When Did Snowflake

begin roller

dancing?

As a child, Snowflake spent every weekend speed skating at her local roller rink with her friends but as an adult, life became hectic and she stopped skating.  In late 2010, Snowflake saw an audition for a music video casting roller dancers.  She got her old speed skates out of storage and put them on just before her audition.  She didn't know how to roller dance but she did her best to spin and dance to the music.  Even though she fell, she booked the job!  Then in 2011, Snowflake was invited to a friend's party at an L.A. roller rink.  She saw a group of skaters doing "Downtown" which is synchronized dance skating that originated in Venice Beach in the 1970s.  She began learning the sequence of dance steps that night.  After a few months of dancing in a group, Snowflake began dancing solo.  She loved the freedom of expressing herself through roller dance by moving her body wherever the music took her.  Producers who had come to the rink in order to cast roller skaters for their film projects, noticed Snowflake's unique roller dance style and invited her to skate in their film projects.  She has now been fortunate to roller dance in several music videos, TV shows, and films!  Snowflake continues to practice new dance moves every time she puts on her roller skates.  She definitely can't imagine her life now without roller dance!
